This award is designed to honor individuals or teams of people who have made a meaningful impact on the lives of local seniors through their commitment and dedication to assisting and supporting local seniors and their living communities.

At the beginning of the year participating communities submitted the names of volunteers who volunteer or assist their communities. The nominees must be a volunteer or community philanthropist to be nominated. If the person is affiliated or employed by the community or by Senior Sing A-long, the majority of the hours must be on a volunteer (unpaid basis).

The voting will go from 8/10/2017 to 8/31/2017.

The results will be announced and the winner contacted by September 1, 2017. The winner will be the guest of honor at our annual fundraiser, Celebrate Life on September 28, 2017.

Nominees

Annette DeVries

Annette works tirelessly helping others in the Sparta senior community. She gives her all to the seniors at not only Sparta Senior Neighbors, but also at the Harvest Way Retirement Community. She does a little bit of everything—from setting up meals to organizing the office to running errands—and she is always helping people in the center with their personal needs. Many of the women here see her as a motivator and a shoulder to lean on.

Mike Favreau

Mike volunteers his time in so many ways to help others in this community. He delivers meals and offers transportation for those in need. Whenever he sees something that needs doing, he does it without being asked. From cleaning floors to picking up after pets to scrubbing community bathrooms—he makes this place a nicer place to live! He really takes pride in his community!
